The Firm’s Dispute Resolution Department has two units, the Litigation Unit and the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Unit.
At the head of the Litigation Unit is a Solicitor & Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with more than 23 years post-call experience. The Unit handles various disputes on behalf of the firm’s clients and these include but is not limited to Corporate and Commercial Law disputes, Oil & Gas disputes, Environmental law-related disputes, banking and finance and land-related matters.
The Litigation Unit can handle cases anywhere in Nigeria and outside the country and it routinely briefs its clients on the status of any matter being handled by the Firm.
Counsel in the firm have extensive training and experience in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution, particularly in the field of Arbitration and Mediation. The Principal of FRC heads the ADR Unit of the Dispute Resolution Department. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, U.K. and apart from being an Accredited Mediator with U.K.-based Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) she is also a member of the training faculties of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, U.K. and CEDR.
The ADR Unit has been engaged in successfully mediating several commercial and family disputes both in Nigeria and United Kingdom and when deemed appropriate, the Unit advises its clients on the merits of ADR.
