Mrs Funmi Roberts was called to the Nigerian Bar to practice as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in June 1982 after obtaining her Bachelor of Laws Degree in the Second Class Upper Division from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Osun State of Nigeria.
After a 3-month stint as State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice of Oyo State of Nigeria, Funmi Roberts taught at the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State until she left to obtain her Masters of Laws Degree from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Osun State of Nigeria. Thereafter, in 1989, she proceeded to establish a Law Firm, Funmi Roberts & Co. Firm of Solicitors & Advocates of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and the firm is engaged primarily in Commercial Law practice with special bias for ADR as a tool for dispute resolution. Funmi Roberts & Co. today has grown to be one of the foremost female-owned law firms in Nigeria with offices in Ibadan and Lagos offering its legal and ADR services to several corporate organisations and individuals, both locally and internationally.
An astute leader with outstanding track record in mobilising for corporate and public sector reform, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, recognised and respected both within and outside the legal profession for her administrative and organisational skills, Funmi Roberts has the profound ability to utilise her excellent analytical skills to achieve defined impactful objectives and develop novel strategically defined solutions to challenges. All these, coupled with tenacity and refusal to be defined or limited by her environment, have enabled her to build of one of the leading value-driven legal and ADR law firms in Nigeria, with offices in Ibadan, Oyo State and Lagos State, and focal point at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
She is a member of several professional organizations including, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in which she is a member of the National Executive Committee, the highest decision making organ of the NBA, member of the NBA Women’s Forum Council; Vice Chairman, Arbitration and ADR Committee of NBA Section on Business Law and a member of its NBA Council of the Section on Business Law.
Funmi Roberts belongs to other professional organisations such as the International Bar Association, Business Recovery Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Federacion Internacional de Abogadas (International Federation of Women Lawyers- FIDA), Society for Corporate Governance, Institute of Directors, Nigeria, and the International Chamber of Commerce. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK as well as an Accredited Mediator of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, UK.
Funmi seats on the Board or Executive Committees of several organisations such as Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ), Lagos Court of Arbitration as well as many corporate bodies including the largest bank in Liberia, Eco Bank, Liberia, Qvate Solutions Ltd, FBN Mortgages Limited, Lagos Court of Arbitration etc.
She is the recipient of several awards which include:

- International Inner Wheel Distinguished Merit Award
- Women of Excellence Award, by Childolescent and Family Survival Organization-(CAFSO)
