Abisola Odeinde, studied law at the University of Wales, Cardiff and then proceeded to the University College London where she obtained an LLM in Corporate Law in 2003. Abisola joined the prestigious law firm of Olaniwun Ajayi LP in 2005 and remained with them for over nine years. During this time, she was involved in a number of notable and significant transactions in the Nigerian financial and corporate arena. She worked in several practices areas of the firm and was also awarded the Best Lawyer Award in the firm during her tenure there. Abisola has expertise in the areas of corporate, structured and project finance, company law, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, insolvency, and commercial contracts and has advised several clients in this capacity. She has provided extensive advice on issues ranging from transaction structuring, documentation, perfection and enforcement of security in financing transactions to negotiation of acquisition agreements, insolvency, regulatory compliance, tax and company law matters. She has also advised on a number of derivative transactions including repurchase and collaterised swap transactions. Abisola’s article ‘Credit Derivatives in Risk Management- Worth the Risk?’ was published in the Nigerian Business Law and Practice Journal.
She also recently published an article on Special Purpose Acquisition Companies-‘SPACs-A Viable Alternative to an IPO?’ She joined Funmi Roberts & Co. in 2020 and heads the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Practice arm of the Firm.
